About Marble Mountains

25 km away from Hoi An to the North, the Marble Mountains are five majestic marble and limestone peaks. It was rumored that these were the eggshells of the dragon Queen left behind after the birth of a beautiful princess. At the beginning of the 19th century, while passing through this region King Gia Long named the mountains after five basic elements : Metal, Wood, Water, Fire and Earth.

You will be entranced by the many stunning caves, statues and temples. Walking 157 stone steps to reach the top, you will be greeted by the breathtaking panorama of the beach and the surrounding countryside. Marble Mountains has been a major pilgrimage site since Cham time and it was also a guerrila base during American war. These sacred mountains appeal on many different levels and should not be missed.

About Lady Buddha Pagoda

Lady Buddha is the one tourist attraction in Da Nang that you absolutely cannot miss! The country’s tallest Buddha statue stands on the side of Monkey Mountain on the Son Tra Peninsula, looking out onto the ocean.

Seen from almost anywhere in Da Nang and from as far as the beaches in Hoi An, Lady Buddha is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. Although often busy, the area is a place of great tranquility, with stunning views and it’s an essential stop when exploring Son Tra. Read our full guide below.

Lady Buddha is part of the Linh Ung Bai Pagoda complex, which is also the largest Pagoda in Danang, not only by size (about 20 ha) but also by the amount of statues that can be found in the gardens.

The approach is a beautiful ride up the peninsula and the complex sits adjacent to the wilds of Monkey Mountain.
