Tour Details

DAY 1: ARRIVAL DAY IN HANOI

From the moment you land at Hanoi airport, we will be with you every step of the way on your best of Vietnam holiday. If this is your first holiday to Vietnam, don’t stress. Your driver will be waiting at the arrival gate holding a sign with your name. The hour long trip from the airport to your hotel provides a visual feast. Stare in wonderment at the whirring washing-machine of traffic and distinctive architecture of the nation’s capital.

DAY 2: HA LONG BAY CRUISE

The emerald green waters and dramatic landscape of Ha Long Bay, one of the world’s greatest natural wonders, is calling your name. Your suitcase is safe at the hotel, so pack a smaller bag with swimwear, sun protection, toiletries and a change of clothes. In the cooler months from October to December, we also suggest packing a waterproof jacket to stay dry and warm. 

9 to 9.30 am – The shuttle bus will arrive to take you eastward to Hon Gai Port, where the V’Spirit Premier Cruise liner is docked and ready for you to board. 

12pm – Board the cruise ship and enjoy a welcome drink on arrival.   

1pm – Enjoy a delicious lunch and soak up the incredible views of towering limestone karsts that stand up to 100 metres in the shimmering emerald green wates. .

3:15pm – Your first stop of the tour will be Tra Bau Bay, where there is the option to kayak or swim in the cool, calm waters.  

5pm – Paddle back to the cruise liner and sip a cocktail or beer as the gorgeous sunset dips below the horizon. Your own personal chef will then showcase their skills and share knowledge of Vietnamese cuisine during an immersive cooking class.  

7pm –  Following the delectable meal, guests will be treated to a performance of traditional Vietnamese music. We are passionate about creating an authentic Vietnamese experience, showcasing the rich culture of this brilliant country. Before retiring to your cabin for the night, head to the bar, spa, or even join the crew for some squid fishing.

DAY 3: HA LONG BAY CRUISE & HANOI

6am – As the sun creeps above the horizon to welcome a new day, start the morning with a relaxing Tai Chi session on the top deck. Our expert Tai Chi instructor will leave you feeling relaxed and centred before another day of exploration. 

7am –  Enjoy breakfast and snap a few photos as the magnificent limestone karsts, backlit by the morning sun, cast long shadows across the bay.  8:30am – The beautiful locals of the bay will arrive and invite you to step aboard their traditional wooden sampan boats. From here, the captains of these micro-vessels will take you through brilliant caves and two gorgeous caverns to explore a vast enclosed lake on the other side. 

10:30am – Return to the main ship and enjoy a delicious buffet lunch during the trip back to the harbour. 

11:45am – Take one final glimpse of the sheer, unadulterated beauty of Ha Long Bay before departing the cruise ship at the harbor. The shuttle bus will be waiting to transfer you back to the hotel in Hanoi. 

3pm: Check-in to the hotel and relax, or head out and explore the exhilarating Hanoi night-life.   *Spa and massage service is available with additional charges.

DAY 4: HANOI TO HUE

After breakfast, a private transfer will take you to Hanoi Airport for a short hour long flight to Hue – the spiritual capital of Vietnam and a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. Your driver will pick you up from Hue airport and transfer you directly to the hotel. 

Time to be confirmed: Your private guide will be waiting for you at the hotel. Following check-in, the guide will introduce you to a team of highly skilled, highly knowledgeable motorbike drivers who will be taking you on a history tour of Hue. Rest assured, your safety is our priority. This is why we partner with the most qualified drivers, travelling at a maximum speed of 40km/h. The history tour of Hue will take you through the heaving Dong Ba Market, through narrow lane ways and across quaint wooden bridges to the vibrant green countryside. You will visit a king’s tomb,the ancient citadel and forbidden Purple City, all the while being educated in an entertaining fashion by local guides who call Hue home. The day concludes with a ride along the famed Perfume River to a pagoda, where monks have prepared an authentic vegetarian lunch for your group.

DAY 5: HUE TO HOI AN

Your group will depart Hue and head south to the gorgeous coastal city of Danang. The trip to Danang will see you climb Hai Van Pass, which has been described as among the best coastal roads in the world due to its stunning scenery.  We will stop at Marble Mountain, a mystifying rock structure with ornate temples and enormous caves housing gigantic statues of buddha, on the journey to Hoi An.  You will arrive at your hotel in Hoi An around lunchtime.  

DAY 6: HOI AN FREE DAY

The charming, riverside town of Hoi An is ripe for exploration. Optional activities include a half day countryside cycling tour, scuba diving and snorkeling on Cham Island, abseiling or fishing. Optional culture tours include a trip to the My Son ancient ruins or a historical walking tour of Hoi An and Marble Mountain.    If you’re fatigued after the first 6 days of your Vietnam adventure, lounge by the resort pool or indulge in a massage, facial or pedicure.  Optional tours ( NOT INCLUDED): – Hoi An Cultural walking tour – Cooking Class – Hoi An Jeep Tour – My Son Holyland

DAY 7: HOI AN FREE DAY

DAY 8: HOI AN TO SAIGON

Depending on flight times, we will take you to Danang Airport for the short hour long flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Your driver will be waiting at Ho Chi Minh City Airport to transport you to the hotel, which is a short half an hour drive from the airport. Time to be confirmed: The incredible network of communist guerrilla tunnels at Cu Chi are waiting to be explored just 1.5 hours from the hotel. The tour to the Cu Chi Tunnels involves learning about the ingenious traps designed by the guerrilla fighters and demonstrations of the weapons and bombs used in the war. For the brave and nimble, there is an opportunity to travel underground in a short section of the tunnels.

DAY 9: MEKONG DELTA

The mighty Mekong Delta, where colorful floating villages, rare bird life, boats stacked with vibrant local fruit, water buffalo, and rice paddy workers toil away beneath the irrepressible Vietnamese sun co-exist in an utterly beguiling ecosystem. Our private boat tour of the Mekong Delta, Asia’s rice bowl, immerses you in this fascinating world. 8.30am: Our guide will pick you up from the hotel and take you to the township of Ben Tre, where you will climb aboard a private boat for a leisurely, culture-rich expedition down the Mekong Delta. Activities include visiting one of the coconut processing workshops along the canal, before steering through narrow rivers to smaller creeks where there is an opportunity to meet local villagers. Marvel at the unique lifestyles of the villagers, who have lived and thrived on the river for centuries. From here, take a motor cart or cycle through the enchanting countryside of vibrant green rice fields and vegetable plains to gain a better understanding on how the local people live. A traditional lunch will be served at a restaurant followed by an afternoon of rowing along the Water Palm Creek, before boarding the boat back to the Hung Vuong Pier.
