Not that long ago there were only one or two studios offering yoga in Hoi An. What a difference a couple of years can make. Now this little town is exploding with yoga possibilities. And, okay, whilst Hoi An may not be up there with Rishikesh, India’s yoga capital of the world, it’s certainly evolving. Because there’s ‘something about Hoi An’. Its become the sort of place where yogis, meditators and well-being enthusiasts flock to seek respite. So, if you’ve come to Hoi An and looking to maintain your Zen and are in need of some “om shanti, shanti, shanti”, you’re in luck!
What are the best places to do yoga in Hoi An?
There are many centers offering yoga in Hoi An. From the dedicated yoga studios of Nomad Yoga or Annen to the many alternative therapies offered by A Luminary Life. There’s even morning yoga on the beach. So whatever your level, whatever your bent, Hoi An has enough Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Hatha to satiate any yogi-seekers thirst.

Nomad Yoga opened in 2016. It was the first dedicated yoga center in Hoi An. It offers a variety of yoga classes as well as Guided Meditation Practices. The center also offers Teachers Training Programs (including a Post Graduate Program), Wellness Therapies even Hoi An Wellness Retreats. Types of yoga on offer include Hatha, Vinyasa, Gentle Yoga, Restorative & Yin Yoga. Their extensive classes cater for all levels.
A Luminary Life
A Luminary Life brings a wonderful richness to the Hoi An Yoga scene. Here you’ll find yoga along with a plethora of alternative therapeutic treatments. Its adventurous menu is geared towards the holistically-inclined with several niche treatments as well as some well-known techniques like Reiki, acupuncture, and osteopathy. The schedule frequently shifts to include new therapies and an eclectic array of local and international practitioners that aim to enhance individuals’ mental and physical well-being.
Types of yoga classes include Hatha, Gentle Yoga, Restorative, Yin and the incredibly meditative, Yoga Nidra. Classes cater for all levels.
Annen, located in central Hoi An, is comprised of a yoga studio and a very popular, vegetarian restaurant. It’s a quaint and simple space where you can practice Sivananda Yoga and enjoy a tasty selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes. Classes take place three times a day (everyday, except Sunday) and tend to be small and intimate, with two classes at 9:30am and 5:30pm for English-speaking students.
Annen is the only yoga venue in Hoi An where you can practice Sivananda Yoga.
Om with Em – Hoi An Yoga Classes on the Beach
If you like practising yoga in wide open paradisal spaces where the only sound is from rolling waves on the shore, then head to Emma Southern’s morning Hatha Beach classes at An Bang.
Hailing from Ireland, Emma who gained her YTT in Hatha Yoga teaches a slower, more grounding practice that includes Hatha, Yin and Restorative yoga plus meditation and pranayama (breathwork).

Annen Yoga has Sivananda Yoga classes 3 times a day. The yoga shala is small and cosy, fitting between 5 and 8 people. Very nice vegetarian restaurant.
