There are public, private and international hospitals in Central Vietnam. The public hospital system is poor and doctors speak little or no English. The private/international hospitals are better positioned to treat expats and have English-speaking doctors (though not always!).
Below lists places to visit if you have any medical issues.
Hoi An Hospitals
Pacific Hospital
The Pacific Hospital has an international section but reviews are mixed due to its prices and pushy manner of wanting payment upfront. In the event of an accident and you cannot get to Da Nang, this is your best option.
Hoi An Hospital
The Hoi An Hospital is cheap as it is part of the public system. For small medical issues (vaccinations, x-rays) this is a good place to go and staff make a lot of effort to treat you well.
Da Nang Hospitals
Family Medical Practice Da Nang
The Family Medical Practice is similar to a Western clinic back home. They have English-speaking doctors, allow direct bulk billing and have modern facilities. Whilst they are one of the more expensive clinics, they are still the ‘Go To’ place for many expats, including Hoi An Now staff.
Vin Mec International Hospital
The recently opened and very modern VinMec International Hospital has received rave reviews. You’ll find state of the art facilities and an experience that many liken to that of being in a 5-star hotel. Staff and doctors speak English and (considering the standard) prices are reasonable.

Pasteur Clinic
Renowned for gynecological and fertility issues, Pasteur is clean, has great service, excellent facilities and is reasonably priced. Some doctors are internationally trained with good English. Go through Ms Trang (International Service) as girls on reception don’t have good English.
Hoan My Hospital
The Hoan My international ward has English-speaking doctors and nurses aimed at caring for foreigners. Linked with many insurance companies, it is often the ‘go to’ hospital for expats in the area. Prices are very reasonable.
Family Hospital
The Family Hospital is highly regarded due to its on-site American doctor, Daniel Mitchell. Prices are reasonable, they have private rooms and good equipment and can do diagnostics on-site. English is not widely spoken so booking an appointment can be difficult. Just turn up, as many people do.
Da Nang Eye Hospital
The hospital provides medical examinations and surgery from Monday – Friday. On Saturdays patients can get medical examinations only. If you wish to go to the Eye Hospital it is advisable to make an appointment.
