Getting to An Bang Beach

The most direct route is Hai Ba Trung, which runs from Tran Phu in the Old Town almost straight to the sand.

If you want the simplest option, taxis and Grab cars are common on this route. Outside peak traffic, the trip usually takes around 10 minutes and costs about 80,000 -100,000 VND, or roughly 4 USD. Travellers on bicycles, scooters and motorbikes will find the ride just as straightforward, with plenty of places to park near An Bang Beach.

There is also a slower, more scenic way to arrive. Follow Cua Dai Road and Lac Long Quan and you can turn the journey into a mini coastal wander, passing quieter corners of Hoi An’s shoreline, including Hidden Beach, before rolling into An Bang.

Parking at An Bang Beach

Arriving under your own steam is easy. Around the end of Hai Ba Trung you will find plenty of places to leave a bicycle, scooter or motorbike, from small parking areas near the beach to cafés and restaurants a short stroll from the water. Some venues let you park for the price of a drink, while dedicated parking close to An Bang Beach is usually inexpensive but can vary by season, vehicle and location. Many beachside parking spots also offer showers and changing facilities, which can be handy if you are heading out for lunch or sunset drinks afterwards.

One tip: do not feel pressured into the first parking space waved in front of you. A few touts can be over-enthusiastic and may make their patch sound more official than it is. If you do not want the service, smile, wave, keep moving and choose the spot that suits you best.
