Thankfully, Hoi An is a vibrant city where you can find everything you need – from local cafes and narrow streets with no foreigners in sight, to Western restaurants and bars that can remind you of nights out at home. When it comes to perfectly combining all of these together, Dive Bar in Hoi An does an amazing job. Here’s our guide to one of the best places to enjoy the nightlife in Hoi An.

Dive Bar Overview

Restaurant

If you are looking for a place that brings the Western culture right in the middle of the Old Town, head to Dive Bar. Their food menu comes with a wide selection of starters comprising both Western and Vietnamese delicacies, while the mains are mostly aimed at those who feel a little homesick food-wise. From burgers to Spaghetti Carbonara and from Vegetarian Quiche to Banana Flambee, their menu will fit everybody’s taste.

Bar

With prices between 25,000VND (1 USD) and 110,000VND (4.75 USD), you can enjoy imported beers, spirits and cocktails, as well as premium wines. If you feel like having a cocktail, there are plenty to choose from including famous ones like Mojito or Tequila Sunrise as well as more classy ones like Cosmopolitan or Iron Man. This nightlife venue also offers shisha in various flavors for about VND 120,000VND (5 USD).

If you want to spice things up, try the two-hour cocktail-making class between 7 and 9pm (time negotiable) for 695,000 VND (30 USD). For that, you’ll get to drink three of the cocktails plus a shot, nibble on some tapas and pick up a certificate of mixology (a fundamental accreditation for all serious cocktail consumers).

Diving Classes

Dive Bar in Hoi An is owned by Cham Island Diving and as you might tell by the name, on top of enjoying the amazing drinks they serve at the bar, you can also sign up for scuba diving or snorkelling courses with them. Dive Bar Review

Informal cane furniture and a pool table set the scene in the red-lit front bar where live music used to be performed when the bar was first open. Here, there’s usually a solid group on stools around the bar and the mood is very relaxed. There’s an al fresco Caribbean-style bar out the back, and in the center of this old Hoi An house there are lounges and big cushions where there’s more intimate lighting. The official home of Cham Island divers, a well-chosen playlist keeps Dive Bar’s mood buoyant.

With its relaxed atmosphere, Dive Bar is a favorite of many Hoi An expats and tourists, especially the under-35s. Even before your first drink, its soothing effect is immediate. At Dive Bar the staff is friendly, helpful, and unfussy and, for peckish patrons, the restaurant offers a good range of local and international cuisine including barbecue options so make sure to check it out when in Hoi An.
