Away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist drag, Mia with its beautiful wrap around veranda surrounded by jungle-greenery is a premier meeting place for ex-pats and tourists in Hoi An. But it’s not the chilled venue that has created Mia’s massive following, it’s the coffee (Dalat Arabica beans roasted on the premises).
Cy’s (the owner’s) endeavour to bring the best beans to Hoi An has paid off because according to many, Mia, delivers the best coffee Vietnam has to offer.
‘I even buy my beans here’, enthuses Regina, an ex-pat of 7 years. ‘Plus it’s not crowded and touristy, I can drive my motorbike here and park outside. I like sitting out on the balcony with all the vegetation around me and watching all the people passing by.’
The menu includes both traditional Vietnamese options and western coffee mainstays such as lattes and cappuccinos. And if you need something to nibble on, Mia also sells paninis, baguettes and a range of home-made cakes.
