Chuc Thanh Pagoda
With its once bright walls that have weathered to rust, Hoi An’s oldest pagoda is definitely a sight to be seen. Located just on the outskirts of Old Town, this pagoda is known for its 600-year-old gateway. Although newer pagodas have been added to the complex, old world charm has not been lost at the Chuc Thanh Pagoda.

Phuoc Lam Pagoda
Still in use by a fraternity of local monks, the Phuoc Lam Pagoda is part of the larger Phuoc Lam temple complex. The temple is open to visitors and can be visited on one’s own, though to make sense of it all, it is best to go with a knowledgeable guide. The temple is known for its ornate decoration and many renderings of the life of Buddha.

Parasailing at An Bang Beach
Fly high at An Bang Beach (at the southern end) with what could only be described as ‘a rollercoaster in the sky.’ Accommodating two, the parachute lifts you up off the beach and into the sky for a ten minute flight. While expensive, parasailing is a great activity for the adrenaline junkie or anyone looking to get a better view of Hoi An and the surrounding countryside.
The wildly colored, cricket-clad Play Zone For Kids is the perfect location to take your young ones who need to burn of a bit of energy. With its cheap as chips entry fee (that also includes a train ride) the Play Zone for Kids is a clean and modern alternative to some of the other child play spaces in town.

Water Buffalo Riding
It could be your best photo from Vietnam — you, conical hat askew, astride a water buffalo up to its knees in muck. Head out into the rice paddies where you will find cheeky locals charging a dollar for a photo on top of their beloved buffalo. Van Duc Pagoda
Van Duc Pagoda, Hoi An’s largest pagoda, is a short trip out of town towards the Tra Que Organic Farm that is easily accessed by bicycle. Welcoming visitors at all hours, this pagoda is home to a large fraternity of monks who are happy to show visitors around the grounds. Van Duc pagoda is currently undergoing reconstruction that should be completed by 2018.
A new kind of experience for kids, the VinKE (That’s Eduta!nment), located inside the Vincom Center, gives kids the opportunity to learn as they play.
