11 Coffee House, best coffee Hoi An, cafes hoi an, best coffee

A few minutes’ walk across the Lantern Bridge from the Old Town on An Hoi, 11 Coffee House is a chilled place to observe the hustle and bustle nearby from a peaceful distance. It’s also serves perfect Italian-style coffee in an intimate setting with magnificent views of the Old Town. Catch the breeze, shoot the breeze and enjoy!

Centrally-located, 11 Coffee House has over time become one of the highest-rated cafes in Hoi An for two key reasons. First, it’s gorgeous aspect on An Hoi Islet looks across a lazy finger of the Thu Bon River back to the Old Town’s famed yellow walls. Second, the coffee is truly great and acclaimed by all-comers. Importantly, vegans also can find a happy home here with smoothies and cappuccinos with soy milk and vegan sandwiches alongside the omnivorous fare.

11 Coffee House is compact to say the least- blink and you will miss it. But it is owned and operated by an enthusiastic, young entrepreneur who has been expertly trained by an Italian barista to produce the perfect cup of coffee. Arabica and Robusta beans from the Central Highlands are roasted on the premises, and also sold in vacuum pack bags at a competitive price.

This cafe sits in our top 5 for quality coffee. Aficionados simply must try it but so must the rest of us as affordability is not an issue. The pricing is very competitive at around 30,000 VND to 38,000 (1.20 USD to 1.60 USD) for most options.

If espresso-based coffee isn’t your thing there are plenty of other coffee brewing choices, even Japanese Syphon coffee – wear a white lab coat and get a chemistry degree before making this at home. There is also a selection of French-style cakes on offer as well as pizzas, hamburgers, sandwiches and pancakes.

And yes, you can linger in this cute boutique space that’s arranged two-by-two / forward-facing. Take in the splendid view and relax or perhaps try a little people-watching, if that’s your wont.
